Import conversation
Upload a WhatsApp text export, review suggested note candidates, edit fields, and import only what you select. Raw upload files are not kept.
What import does
Import conversation reads a WhatsApp .txt export, groups relevant messages into note candidates, and lets you edit and select rows before anything is saved. Only checked rows become normal Notes.
Step by step
- From Notes, choose Import conversation.
- Upload the exported .txt file from WhatsApp.
- Review candidates: edit title, message date, channel, body, and links.
- Uncheck rows you do not want. Duplicates against existing notes are flagged.
- Confirm import. Selected rows become journey notes.
- Optionally choose Review dates from this import to scan only those notes for calendar suggestions.
Privacy
- The raw upload file is not retained after processing.
- Only note fields you confirm are stored in your journey.
- Import uses deterministic parsing, not AI. It may miss context or suggest irrelevant rows; always review.
After import
Imported notes behave like any other note: searchable, linkable, and eligible for calendar backfill. Calendar events are still never created without your explicit confirmation on each suggestion.
FAQ
- Is my WhatsApp file stored?
- No. The raw export is processed and discarded. Only confirmed note fields are kept.
- Will every message become a note?
- No. You select candidates on the preview screen before import.
